Does anyone of you guys has experience with nightshot camera's? I have taken a look at Sparkfun but couldn't find one.

Please let me know!

Hi Roel,

I have a bit of knowledge on the topic - what is it you are trying to do? Maybe I can help out or at least point you in the right direction.

I have found a camera with a RCA output and like to convert it into a byte array and back. So I can send it over Zigbee.
So does this mean you still need some assistance with this or no?
Yes, I need assistance!

I can't use the camera because I don't know how to convert a RCA signal.

Wich camera did you use?

Excuses for not being clear!
Ok,

I would need to know the entire configuration you have set up. Are you using an adruino? What microcontroller? How is it all interfaced? What are you coding in? Please provide further information so that I may give you an appropriate response.

Thanks!

I am going to use a configuration that is not yet really known. It will be in the .NET Micro Framework. I am going to use the Netduino (www.netduino.com). I like to get the video over serial but heard that this is not possible because of the baudrate. So I think it will be WiFi.

I have found the following camera:

http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8773

But it has a RCA output that I don't know.

If you don't have experience with this configuration, can you tell me your configuration and how you did it?

Roel
The uC on the NetDuino is way to small to encode and decode the video. RCA is analog so should be encoded to digital and that uses 'some' resources. The configuration I have chosen above is not going to work.

Nevertheless thanks!

Roel
Roel,

What we have done on previous projects when it came to video is that we used a combination of a microcontroller such as the netduino and an embedded system with wifi capabilities.

We have used the eBox 4300, laptops, and we are planning on doing two projects in the coming months with video - our plan right now is to use either a roboboard, gadget pc or beagleboard to accomplish this. Either way - the cameras are not connected directly to the microcontroller - rather - they are connected to the embedded system.

The nice thing about this approach is we can purchase any off the shelf webcam for our video purposes instead of something custom.

Hope this helps.

what configuration did you wind up going with? im working on a project that involves low light vision and would love to see what you have going on on your end
